Make Your Teeth Shine with Smile Brilliant {Giveaway}

Written by, Bernadyn Nettles

Does coffee stain your teeth? Do you have tooth sensitivity but want to whiten your teeth? A common problem many people have are stained, dull teeth and also tooth sensitivity. That's why there are plenty of whitening products on the market that offer to whiten your teeth and remove stains. However, it can be a challenge to find the right one for you that will actually give you satisfying results. For a few years now, I have had trouble keeping my teeth to a white that I'm content with. I'm always on the lookout for trying new things that can brighten and whiten my teeth. I'm happy to share with you today that I found it through Smile Brilliant and that they offer something in the kit for your tooth sensitivity. The best part is that I didn't have to visit the dentist to get my teeth whiter!

Teeth Whitening, Teeth Sensitivity

Thank you to Smile Brilliant for sponsoring today's discussion. I received a complimentary teeth whitening kit to try in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Now, of course, please visit the dentist to keep your teeth and gums healthy. But if you're looking to whiten your teeth at home, you can do what I did and save a trip to the dentist with Smile Brilliant. While you're saving that trip to the dentist, you'll also be saving over $500 on the same whitening process that the dentist would offer!

Why I Have Stained Teeth

One of the big reasons I believe I have stains and dull-looking teeth is because I'm a coffee and tea-drinker. Since becoming a parent and adulting it for the past several years, I find that coffee and caffeine has become a necessary part of getting through a typical day!

We all know that colored beverages and food can stain teeth eventually over time and can be tough to remove once it's on there. My dentist even told me that some people's teeth react to medication negatively, causing their stain to stain It happened to me when I was prescribed some gum medication in the past from my dentist. Therefore, I know that unfortunately, my teeth do tend to stain easily.

Yours might to, which is why it's even harder to keep them shining bright. Smile Brilliant helps to regain your original white for your own teeth. I was excited to try this kit since I have tried several other whitening products from whitening toothpastes to whitening gels to whitening strips. The problem I had with certain products is my teeth sensitivity. They caused discomfort and made my teeth feel more sensitive after using them.

Desensitizing Gel

Like I mentioned, Smile Brilliant offers a product for that dreaded tooth sensitivity. My kit included a desensitizing gel that you place on your teeth after using the whitening gel to prevent tooth sensitivity and also to help avoid your teeth from staining again. You can choose to purchase the desensitizing gel syringes if you know you have tooth sensitivity.

How Smile Brilliant's Teeth Whitening Kit Works

Are you ready to see how it works and my results? I'm thrilled to show you!

Here is the kit and what is included inside:
  • Teeth whitening gel syringes
  • Custom-fitted mouth trays
  • Catalyst paste and base paste (to make your teeth impressions)
  • Brochures with instructions on how to make your teeth impressions and how to use the whitening and desensitizing gels

The kit comes with extra base and catalyst paste to make your teeth impressions just in case you mess up and need to make another one. Underneath the top of this layer are the brochures with instructions on how to make the molds of your teeth and how to use the whitening and desensitizing gels.

The base and catalyst pastes above are combined together to create the teeth impressions. They harden pretty quickly, so right after you combine them, you place them in the blue tray to let them set and harden. Make the molds for your top and bottom teeth one at a time. After they both harden (you should allow it to harden for at least 30 minutes), then you place the trays inside the return envelope provided for you and it will be sent to the lab to create your teeth molds.

It comes back fairly quickly, (about a week), and you can start whitening your teeth. I was excited about starting the process and seeing results. The time it takes to see visible results varies for each person, typically about 7-10 days to see a difference. Since I know I have tooth sensitivity, I started the process off slow, only keeping the trays in my mouth for 15 minutes at first, then increasing it in five minute increments each day afterward.

Now, for My Teeth Whitening Results

Here is my picture BEFORE starting the teeth whitening process:

The photo below may look okay from a quick glance, but up close, I wanted my teeth to be whiter and brighter.

I took all my photos in natural lighting and did not edit any of them. I tried to be consistent and take the pictures the same time every day. I live in Florida, so during this time (summer months), it was raining off and on, which made some days cloudier than others. I tried to adjust the timing of the photos to be taken during the brighter part of those days.

I was not too happy looking at my before photos of my teeth so up close and personal.  You probably don't want to look at these before pics either for too long...please don't stare too hard! It did motivate me, though, to remove the stains. Some stains were tougher to remove than others, as you can see in each photo below. There are a couple teeth with stains that wanted to stick around.

Ta-da! From top left all the way to the bottom right is the teeth whitening process while I was using the kit. The first one is before using any of the teeth whitening gel. I like how the whitening gel made my teeth shinier and brighter while the stains faded.

I still have plenty of teeth whitening gel and desensitizing gel left that I'm going to continue to use every couple of months to maintain it. The shelf life of the gels are 1 year and can last for up to 2 years if you refrigerate them.

Say "Cheese!"

I don't take too many photos of myself but for social media and my profile pictures, I do take some every now and then. I want to be certain to put my best smile forward, which means achieving the whitest teeth that I can possible. I'm happy now and more confident to smile bigger when cheesing for the camera!
