June 17th is the tenth anniversary of National Flip Flop Day (NFFD). Receive a free smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe when you come in wearing flip flops from 2-7 pm. This day highlights the laid-back vibe of Tropical Smoothie Cafe, but it's more than just a day to wear flip flops and receive refreshing smoothies; it's also for a good cause. Tropical Smoothie Cafe will collect donations for Camp Sunshine, which sends kids with life-threatening illnesses and their families to a week-long camp in Maine.

They pair well with their tasty and healthy wraps, flatbreads, and sandwiches, too. To receive your free 24 oz. This year on NFFD, Tropical Smoothie Cafe has a goal to reach $1 million for Camp Sunshine, so while you're there, consider making a donation.
Now through June 30th, Tropical Smoothie Cafe will be offering three different ways for guests to make donations to Camp Sunshine.
- Donations between $1-$4 will be rewarded with a paper flip flop sign that will hang in the restaurant, and can be customized with guests' names.
- Larger donations can be made by purchasing a $10 limited-edition re-usable mug, featuring artwork designed by a previous Camp Sunshine camper. All purchases from the mugs go to Camp Sunshine.
- For donations bewteen $5 - $9, guests will receive a key fob, which is new for this year. These are the annual Flip Flop Key Fob that will give guests a 30% discount code to be used at feelgoodz.com - an all-natural flip flop company that's partnering with Tropical Smoothie Cafe for 2016. 10% of purchases from the key fob codes will go to Camp Sunshine.
Origins of National Flip Flop DayNational Flip Flop Day launched ten years ago by Tropical Smoothie Cafe as a way to celebrate the start of summer and all things tropical. The brand wanted to give back to the community it served and found the perfect partnership with NFFD and Camp Sunshine in 2008.
About Camp SunshineCamp Sunshine, a free program founded in 1984, provides retreats combining respite, recreation, and support while promoting joy for children with life-threatening illness and their families. This includes illness like cancer, kidney disease, lupus, sickle cell disease, organ transplants, and other serious illness. It's the only program that offers year-round camping programs that serve the entire family in a retreat setting. It's located in Casco, Maine. It includes on-site medical and psychological support.
The biggest contributing states to the program (including my state, Florida), are Arkansas, Oklahoma, New York, Massachusetts, and Michigan.
Every year since its inception in 2008, NFFD has continued to increase the amount it has raised, starting from $125K to reaching $1M in 2015.
