Save Money with Dollar Tree Christmas Decorations {Giveaway}

Written by, Bernadyn Nettles

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

Holidays, home decor, dollar tree review

Decorating the house with beautiful Christmas decorations is a tradition we do every year as a family and helps make Christmas come alive.  The kids know Christmas is on the way once the tree, lights, garland and stockings are displayed.  Among all the other holiday chaos and hassle, decorations are the one thing I want to rely on to be stress-free.  I also don't want to break the bank with spending on decorations when there's plenty of other things to burn our money on during Christmas!  An easy, no-fuss solution to take care of our holiday decorating is with inexpensive, beautiful Christmas decorations at Dollar Tree.

'Tis the Season to Be Jolly...fa la la la, la la la la...

This year we had the wonderful opportunity to review a box filled with Christmas goodies from Dollar Tree.  The box included a variety of bright, sparkly and festive Christmas decorations, candy canes, a Christmas sign and craft items.  We usually don't decorate for Christmas until December but we were excited to get the house decorated when we received the box so that this post could be up after Thanksgiving.

The kids were pretty jolly to see the box at our door! They couldn't wait to open it, they love decorating the house especially for Christmas time.

Deck the Halls with Dollar Christmas Decorations

The box came with plenty of nice Christmas decorations, one less thing for me to worry about this holiday season.

Holly, Jolly Christmas

                                                    garland, bows, holidays

We started decorating by putting up this gorgeous green garland that added some color to our large window in our living room.  The set of red, sparkly bows helped to add the Christmas cheer to the garland.

On the first day of Christmas, Dollar Tree sent to me:
A Partridge in a Pear Tree

Gold bird, Chrismtas bird

I'm not sure what type of bird this is but I love that it's sparkly and gold.  It definitely brightened up our entertainment center along with the other Christmas decor Dollar Tree sent!

Christmas lights, vase, Christmas flowers

The box also came with a nutcracker man, Santa figure, red and gold wreath, glass vase, flowers, a pair of candle holders, two pairs of battery-operated tea light candles and a string of white lights.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

For the kids, it's not Christmas without Santa so we're glad the box came with this adorable little Santa that can sit (and watch the kids)!

I've always adored the nutcracker men because of "The Nutcracker Ballet."

There was a bag of reindeer moss that came inside the box.  I put it inside the glass vase with the berries and flowers.  I used an empty toilet paper tube as a filler and to hold the flowers in place better.

Simple Gift Idea: Candy Canes in a Jar

Candy canes, mason jar gifts, christmas gifts

The box included two boxes of mini candy canes.  I put some in a mason jar and used some of the ribbon, the left over leaves from the flower bouquet and a small ball ornament to decorate the jar.  This would make a nice gift for a teacher or friend who works in an office so they could sit it on their desk.

Gift Idea: Candy Cane Lollipops and Crushed Candy Cane Pops

I also used some of the candy canes to make these Christmas-themed lollipops, marshmallow pops and star cake pops that I'll actually be selling this month in our newly opened Belicious Treats Bakery!  These will make fun, tasty gifts for kids and adults or great stocking stuffers.

A Star, A Star, Dancing in the Night

I love these two wall decors that are now displayed as part of our Christmas decorations.  The Christmas sign and gold star added some Christmas cheer to our walls.

Oh, Christmas Tree

Christmas isn't complete around our house until the tree is put up and decorated.  Luckily, Dollar Tree did not disappoint when it came to the ornaments included in the box.  There were several gold, red and green ball ornaments along with burlap flowers, a large red clip-on flower and four spools of wired Christmas ribbon.  I made a big red bow using some of the red ribbon and I took apart a bouquet of burlap flowers to put them on the tree.  The ball ornaments were originally all at the bottom of the tree because that's the only place my little girl could reach.

Frosty The Snowman

wreath, santa hat, snowman

Wreaths are a great way to decorate for the holidays or for any occasion and I love making my own wreaths.  When I saw this green foam wreath frame, I knew I wanted to make a snowman wreath.  It's an easy wreath to make and one you can do in about ten minutes.

How to Make a Snowman Wreath Using One Wreath Frame

Since the box only came with one like this, I decided to cut the frame into two.

crafts, diy, wreath

1. I used a serrated knife to cut the wreath.  I had to get my hubby to help with most of the cutting because it did take some effort.  Be careful if you do this so as not to cut yourself!

2.  After it was cut into two, I wrapped ribbon all around both frames and taped them down with clear packing tape.  you can glue them down maybe with a hot glue gun to make it stick better but the tape so far is holding up just fine.

3.  I secured both wreaths by taping the center bottom and center half of them together.

4.  I wrapped some of the red ribbon around the middle as a scarf.

5.  I added the two ball ornaments to look like "buttons."

6.  I taped the Santa hat to the top since I already had it but you could make a Frosty hat to make it look more like Frosty if you like.

"Dollar Tree is your holiday headquarters and one-stop shop for $1 seasonal decorations."

Dollar Tree has so many great items, I love shopping there all throughout the year.  For decorations that were only $1 each, I thought these were all perfect for our house to add to our holiday decor and would truly save you money on your decorations.  They hold up well and are sure to last a long time since you're only using them during the holiday season.  You'll definitely get the most value out of your dollar!  We were able to decorate with Dollar Tree Halloween decorations, too which you can read about the review in this previous post.
