Black and Teal Halloween Pumpkin Crafts with WW Linky Party

Halloween Pumpkin Crafts

Crafts, Arts, Fall Activities

Are you ready for Halloween?  There's more pumpkin decorating going on here as we are getting ready for Halloween!  Since my daughter and I recently had a "Frozen/Breakfast at Tiffany's" style birthday party, we had this teal colored blue paint left over (and the decorations from the party are still up) so we decided to paint some pumpkins teal, too!  Black went well for a more Halloween-theme and of course, she loves sprinkles so that was also part of the decorating.  The last week of October means that this is my last week co-hosting Wordless Wednesday for Oh My Heartsie Girl I invite you to party with us before the week is over!

Black and Teal Pumpkins with Dots and Sprinkles

Crafts, Art, Fall Activities

What You Need:

Black acrylic paint
Teal acrylic pain
Paint brushes
Sprinkles or glitter

Fall Activities, Arts and Crafts, Kids' Crafts

  1. Start with laying down newspapers to protect the area you're painting.
  2. We poured a little bit of the paint onto the newspaper so we can just dip the paint brush into the paint.
  3. Paint the pumpkins all over.
  4. You can add the sprinkles and/or glitter while the paint is wet so you don't have to use the glue but we didn't think about that until after it dried.
  5. You can carefully hold the stems to paint the bottom or just wait until the top half of the pumpkin dries before painting the bottom.
  6. Let dry for about an hour or two, it doesn't take long for it to dry.  Then, paint another coat if you like.
  7. We used regular Elmer's glue to glue on the sprinkles.  You can use glitter glue to make it easier or plain glitter on top of the glue since using sprinkles made the colors run.
  8. Drizzle the glue where you want the sprinkles, then add them on top.
  9. For the dots, after the pumpkin dries, use the tip of the paint brush or a pencil's eraser to easily add the dots.
