Happy Friday, everyone!  Are you glad it's finally Friday?  I know I am!  It's been a long week and I've been super busy but it has been a good, productive week for rest yet, however, because this weekend is only going to get crazier with two birthday parties we plan on attending, baking a cake for a good friend, church and hopefully some family time on Sunday.  Enjoying today, though, since it is Friday and that means it's time for another Ask Away Friday swap. This week, I swapped with Stacey from This Momma's Ramblings.  Stacey is a wife and mother to three awesome children.  She blogs about her wonderful family, recipes, craft projects, living frugally and more so be sure to check out her blog!

Say hi to Stacey!

 What is #AskAwayFriday?

If you're not familiar with #AskAwayFriday, it's when two bloggers swap a set of ten questions to answer on their own blog.  It's a fun way to get to know one another and connect.  I love it!  More info about it below ;)

Now onto the questions she asked me...

1. I read in your "About Me" page that you want to write books...What kind of books do you dream of writing? I'd like to write mostly Children's books and New Adult Fiction books but who knows?  Maybe I'll end up writing something completely different.  I think right now children's books is what I dream about since my kids are still so young.  When my little girl starts going to school, I'll want to be more active in pursuing writing those books.

2. What type of books are your favorite kind to read? What is your favorite book/author? I like to read all kinds but right now,my favorite kind to read are adult fiction books, mostly by Emily Giffin.  My hands down all-time favorite book is The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis.  I remember receiving that book one year as a Christmas gift and I've loved it ever since.

Here's a book by Emily Giffin I read this past summer.

3. What is one guilty pleasure you enjoy too much to give up?  I'd have to say drinking wine at the end of a long day!  I love dessert wine like Moscato to help me wind down while I relax in front of the TV.

4. What does your dream vacation look like? Where do you go?  My dream vacation is  to be able to lounge around, enjoy the sun, water and not have to do anything for myself as much as possible!  A dream vacation I would love to take sometime soon is to go on a cruise to the Bahamas since I still have yet to go.

5. What’s one thing you’d rather pay someone to do than do yourself? Why? For me, cleaning the bathroom is my least favorite house work but the one that I just feel the need to do several times a week that would be the one that I'd pay someone else to do often if I could.

Jacksonville, FL, Art, Garden

6. Where’s your favorite place to take an out-of-town guest?  It would The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens because that is one of my favorite places in my town, the gardens are beautiful and if they have children, they would love the Kids Connections museum area.  Also, I would treat them to a day in St. Augustine to walk around and explore.

7. Do you have a favorite recipe from your childhood that you now make for your family?  Oh wow, there's so many that I recently began making for my family from my childhood days...  My favorite would be one of the first recipes I learned to make, called Puto (steamed rice cakes).  My kids ask for this a lot now since the cakes are small, tasty and colorful.  Here's the batch we made last weekend:

Puto Rice Cakes, Filipino Food, Steamed Cakes

8. What is your fondest dream that you have yet to accomplish?  Becoming an editor is one that's on the top of my list.  I'd love to be a freelance editor or work on a team with another publishing company.  I've always wanted to be able to help other aspiring writers or authors have their work published and make their dreams come true.

9. Who is someone in your life that has molded you into the woman that you are and why?  The people that have been constant in my life are both my parents and they helped a lot with molding me into who I am.  They taught me my values and beliefs, although now as an adult (and even growing up), there were and are still times I don't always agree with them. The back bone of the kind of person I am are thanks to how they've raised me, though.  I hope to be able to lay down a similar foundation for my own kids, too, that they will appreciate.
This is something I though a lot about with my parents when I was a teenager!  I'm sure my kids will think the same thing, too, one day.
I knew this was true even when we drove each other crazy!  I hope my own kids will remember, it, too!

10. What is one thing that blogging has taught you about yourself?  This is a big one because I was just thinking about all the things I've learned from blogging that I otherwise wouldn't have ever known in life!

Let's see...well, there's so much that blogging has taught me about myself that I'm so happy to have discovered but since I can pick only one, it would have to be realizing all the things I'm capable of doing and skills I could pick up on (like html coding!) and cooking was never a talent of mine but now I love it.  If I never started blogging, I would have never seen myself doing these things. :)

Thanks so much for these awesome questions, Stacey!  I love how much I learn about myself every week when I answer a set of these questions.  Don't forget to stop over at Stacey's blog to see the questions I asked her!  If you'd like to join in, too, head over to the Ask Away Friday Facebook page.  Send out a #Buddyrequest and let me know if you join so I can exchange questions with you!
