Valentine's Day Upcycled Glass Jars and Printables

Recycled Glass Jars for Valentine's Treats

Here's a super simple and easy gift idea for Valentine's Day to give to friends, family, teachers and others: decorate a recycled glass jar and fill it with treats like chocolate-covered popcorn or chocolate-covered marshmallows!  My daughter and I had fun making these and she inspired me to create them since she loves using sprinkles for everything including crafts.  (Don't worry, she doesn't eat them once there's glue on it)!

Homemade Valentine's Day Cards

Written by, Bernadyn Nettles

Hello, Friend!

The easy access to the internet, email and sending out e-cards is convenient but there's still something special about sending and receiving that physical letter or card through snail mail.  I especially love handmade cards because you get to let your creative juices flow and of course, the thought and effort you put into creating it is priceless.  Today is "Send a Card to a Friend Day" and it works out perfectly since my kids and I have been working on some homemade Valentine's Day cards this week.  My kids love writing notes and letters so they enjoyed this project.  The best part for them is that they know they will be sending it to people they love.  Check out my free Valentine's Day Cards Printables that you can download and print to send, too.

#AskAwayFriday with April: Love and Romance Edition

Love, Romance and Dating

Do you remember your most romantic date or the first time you said, "I love you," to someone?  I'm remembering it all now and am glad I do since Valentine's Day is coming up fast.  I'm reminiscing thanks to my new Ask Away Friday buddy this week, April, who blogs at April Noelle is Finding Favor.  She asked me all about love, romance and dating for the upcoming heart-filled holiday next week known as Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day Baked Crayon Hearts

Reusing Broken Crayons

What do you do with broken crayons?  I've shared another post last year where we had broken crayons piling up everywhere.  If we're not constantly picking them up, they end up lying around our house, in my purse, in the car, in my kids' get the picture!  We all know their fate once crayons come out of the box!  In a previous post, I recycled broken crayons by using them to make candles.  We once again had another pile up of broken crayons and I saw this fun idea in this post on Ella and Annie Magazine's blog to bake them into crayon hearts.  We decided to give it a try and so I'm sharing that with you today in case you want to remold your broken crayons, too!

Celebrate Valentine's Day with Your Kids

Red, purple, pink and heart-shaped candy, oh my!  Valentine's Day is in the least around here!  No wonder my little girl loves this holiday,  it's filled with all her favorite things.  I forgot to mention the small and giant-sized fluffy teddy bears that she adores, too!  It's a fun holiday and I know not everyone celebrates it.  I think this holiday doesn't have to be just for lovers and couples, however, it's a sweet day to show someone you care about (like grandparents, aunts and friends), that they're important to you.  It's also the perfect day to shower a special little person in your life if you're a parent.  You know who I'm talking about - your mini sweetheart who stole your heart that day he or she was born!  Spend some time with your child this Valentine's with these easy and fun date ideas that I'm sharing today over at Jacksonville Moms Blog.  There's some ideas that you can apply to wherever you live, not just in Jacksonville!
