Butterfly & Cupcake Nutella Sandwiches & Bird's Nest Breakfast

Written by, Bernadyn Nettles

Cupcake and Butterfly Nutella Sandwiches

Breakfast, Nutella, cookie cutter

My kids are constantly inspiring me to create fun, kid-friendly snacks.  Recently, my little girl has been asking to have her crusts removed off of her bread for her sandwiches.  (This is something my son used to do at her age and he was over it but sometimes goes back to asking since she asks to have it removed from hers).  Instead of removing the crusts, I now use cookie cutters to make shapes for the bread like cupcake and butterfly shapes.  After all, shapes are more fun to eat, right??  See below for what happens to the rest of the bread!

#AskAwayFriday with Christy at Uplifting Families

Happy Friday, everyone!  It's been a busy week here and we still have lots to do.  We're looking forward to a fun weekend since this week is my daughter's birthday week.  She turned 3, oh no... My little baby is growing way too fast!  There's been plenty of excitement at our house from this growing and celebrating but since it's Friday, I'm also excited for another round of Ask Away Friday.  This week, my new buddy for Ask Away Friday is Christy who blogs at Uplifting Families.

Baby Girl is 3: A Letter to My Daughter on Her Birthday

Baby Girl's 3rd Birthday

My little girl is three today!  I think it's a little bit tougher every year for me to accept her growing older because she is my last baby.  It's a common feeling that I know parents encounter and need to deal with as their little babies grow.  My emotions have been all mixed up as her birthday drew closer.  I've been feeling a combination of sadness, joy, pride for her achievements and excitement to celebrate another birthday ..all the things that describe one big feeling that I've come to realize and can only now fully understand...  The feeling of being a parent.

Fall Bucket List 2014

pumpkins, pumpkin patch, autumn

Fall is here!  Are you excited or are you still holding onto summer?  It still feels like summer here in the Sunshine State but I think that's why I'm looking forward to the fall season this year.  I'm ready to welcome some cooler weather, pretty autumn colors and all the fun festivities that fall brings in the next couple of months.  I know it may not get too cool here but there are plenty of things I'm thrilled to do with my family and friends this fall.  Here is a bucket list of all the awesome things I'm planning on doing this autumn season...

Let Cender Scholars Help Your Child

Written by, Bernadyn Nettles

Cender Scholars

As parents, we realize that not all children are the same, in fact, each one is unique (exactly what I'm learning about with both my kids)!  Therefore, the same parenting techniques may not work for both children.  The same goes for the way students learn.  Each child learns in a different way and can benefit from learning in different types of environment.  That is what Cender Scholars is passionate about - helping students increase their academic achievement with individual educational plans that are specific to each child.  Do you have a student that needs additional help with school and could benefit with some tutoring?  If you are in the Palm Beach and Broward County area, learn more about how Cender Scholars can help your child!

Fall Love Bugs with Truly Nolen Pest Control

Truly Nolen Pest Control

Gardening, Fall Plants, Pests in Gardens

Just this summer, I started my first garden.  I know many of you out there maintain gardens, as well, and are pros at keeping up a beautiful one.  I still have so much to learn about gardening and how to keep the plants alive.  Sadly, I ruined my Basil plant and one of my daughter's flowers that she planted did not last long because she over-watered it one day.  There are also many pests we see strolling about in our garden that may be disrupting our plants.  We are working on being better gardeners, researching and learning more so when I was contacted by a representative from Truly Nolen's Pest Control about natural pests that can actually help your garden, they had my attention!

Happy Friday, everyone!  Are you glad it's finally Friday?  I know I am!  It's been a long week and I've been super busy but it has been a good, productive week for me...no rest yet, however, because this weekend is only going to get crazier with two birthday parties we plan on attending, baking a cake for a good friend, church and hopefully some family time on Sunday.  Enjoying today, though, since it is Friday and that means it's time for another Ask Away Friday swap. This week, I swapped with Stacey from This Momma's Ramblings.  Stacey is a wife and mother to three awesome children.  She blogs about her wonderful family, recipes, craft projects, living frugally and more so be sure to check out her blog!
