Enjoy a Christmas Classic: Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker {Review}

Written by, Bernadyn Nettles

I was beyond thrilled to be able to attend a complimentary showing recently of The Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker in Daytona Beach, Florida.  The Nutcracker Ballet is a Christmas show that I have been a huge fan of since I was a little girl.  I took my husband with me to watch and we made a sweet date night out of it, starting with a long drive alone in the car that gave us the chance to catch up and talk without the kids, something we rarely get to do!  After arriving in Daytona Beach, we ate dinner and headed to the show.  The main attraction of the evening, of course, was the chance to  experience this ballet together.

Inspiration for Your Fall Tablescape

Written by, Bernadyn Nettles

Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week?? My family is hosting Thanksgiving in our home this year so I have been in hostess mode making preparations for the special day.  One of the things on  my to-do list is setting up a nice fall tablescape that includes a pretty centerpiece, whether it be using floral arrangements or other fall-related items to help bring in the autumn colors and give our home that warm, Thanksgiving atmosphere.  I put together some of my own creations working with fall pieces I already had and also included a few floral centerpieces from BloomNation to add some additional inspiration for those of you also hunting for fall tablescape ideas.  Let me know what you think!

Gift the Love of CanvasPop {Giveaway}

Written by, Bernadyn Nettles

What do photographs mean to you?  As a mother, they mean the world to me (aside from my kids, of course)!  They capture moments, big and small and years later when I look back on them, I know I'll have a smile on my face when I can re-live a special moment.  Every fall, I love taking a family photo because the colors of the autumn season are gorgeous and the weather is just right for taking an outdoor picture.  I recently had the opportunity to make a fall family photo even more special by having it enlarged and printed on canvas through CanvasPop.  I'm thrilled to share that opportunity with you, too and to give a lucky winner a chance to win a free canvas photo!

Kids' Coloring Prize Pack

Written by, Bernadyn Nettles

It may not be here yet but December is fast approaching!  We have already been busy around here preparing for the holidays.  One of the things we include with holiday preparations are acts of kindness.  This is something beautiful to participate in throughout the year, of course but around this time, I think it is even more important and important to have our children participate.  We are putting together boxes to donate, have began donating to various charities even if it's a dollar here and there.  What is important is the thought, no matter how big or small the actual amount you donate.  Today, to extend the holiday spirit of giving, I'm happy to help fill a special child's stocking this year by participating in the Super Stocking Stuffer Giveaway Hop hosted by The Mommy Island  and The Kids Did It.

2015 Ornament Exchange Link Party

Written by, Bernadyn Nettles

Have you started thinking about Christmas decorations or how you will be decorating your Christmas tree this year?  I know Thanksgiving hasn't passed yet but for the past two weeks, a group of us bloggers, put together by Erlene at My Pinterventures, had an ornament exchange this month so that we could share with you our ornament finds or DIY tutorials.  I partnered with Rachel at Craving Some Creativity and made her this DIY Woodland Ornament.  Now that this awesome ornament exchange is over, we're sharing each one of them in the links below.   It's also your turn!  We want to see what ornaments you may have come up with.  Show us your creations in the link up, we'd love to see them!

Veterans Day: My Freedom to Drive

Written by, Bernadyn Nettles

I remember feeling the eyes of all the adults and children who attended, watching our team as we marched down the downtown streets.  They grew quiet every time our team stopped in front of them.  I felt proud to represent my school and wear the uniform.  I don't remember an ounce of nervousness in my bones while marching or commanding, although, maybe at that time I actually did have the jitters.
