Ideas for DIY Homemade Holiday Cards

DIY Homemade Christmas Cards

Do you give out Christmas cards?  I think receiving Christmas cards in the mail is still a wonderful way to send someone holiday greetings.  Hand delivering them or placing them with a Christmas gift is also a sweet way to give them out.  My family mailed out our cards last week.  We bought some pre-made ones but I also helped my kids make their own Christmas cards this year with paint, glitter and Sharpie markers.

Teaching Kids About Being Self-Less: Acts of Kindness Ideas

Written by, Bernadyn Nettles

Being Self-less and Sharing Acts of Kindness with Our Children

Welcome to another week of Mommy Cab Discussions!  Since it's the holiday season, I've been talking to my kids a lot about acts of kindness and what it means to be giving and self-less.  It is an important topic to discuss with children regularly but it works well during the holidays to teach them the true meaning of Christmas.  It is common for young children to see a world that revolves around them and where they constantly put themselves in the equation.  As parents, it is our jobs to teach them to remove themselves from the equation every now and then and to think about others.

Betty Crocker™ Potatoes  - Cheesy Hashbrown Turnovers and Meatballs for the Holidays

A big part of the holidays are enjoying delicious, holiday food and for many people, part of their memories are in cooking up those meals.  I love cooking and sharing dishes at holiday gatherings but during the holidays, I want to make more memories away from the kitchen and spend time with my family.  That is why I am happy to use Betty Crocker™ Casserole Potatoes.  Betty Crocker™ Casserole Potato Mixes are great to use for a tasty holiday potato recipe that is simple to create.  That is just what I wanted to accomplish with this campaign that I am excited to share with you today.  It's called "Get Your Betty On and Celebrate the Holidays with Delicious and Flavorful Dishes From Betty Crocker™ Potatoes!"  I chose to use Betty Crocker™ Potatoes Cheesy Hashbrown mix to make turnovers and meatballs.  These are two holiday potato recipes that make tasty side dishes or appetizers during this holiday season to help you spend more time celebrating the holidays with your family and friends.

DIY Homemade Christmas Kids' Crafts and Decorations

Written by, Bernadyn Nettles

Christmas is in 15 short days!   As we prepare for the big day, we have been busy over here with crossing things off our Advent List (not in any particular, organized order) and we haven't actually made our advent calendar yet but we are just doing random activities we think of every day!  One of the Christmas activities we enjoy doing now that the kids are older is making crafts and DIY projects with them.  Over the weekend, they made decorations and gifts for others while expanding their creativity.  These projects helped with teaching them about being generous and to think of others.  This is also part of our Acts of Kindess during this month to help celebrate Christmas and teach the kids that Christmas is about giving and being self-less.

Holiday Gift Guide {Gift Ideas for Parents, Children and Families}

Written by, Bernadyn Nettles

Christmas shopping can be a stressful and tedious task especially if you are going to be brave enough to hit the actual physical stores this season!  Luckily, my family did start our Christmas shopping in enough time this year so that we don't feel as stressed as we usually have felt in the past years.  If you're still in need of some holiday gift ideas, I put together this holiday gift guide with a variety of items that can make great gifts for anyone on your list! The best part is you can avoid going to the stores and shop from the convenience of your own home while wearing your pajamas and watching Netflix and sipping on hot tea or cocoa!
