Easy Thanksgiving Cake Decorating Idea and Chocolate Cake Recipe

Written by, Bernadyn Nettles

 Thanksgiving Cake

Something I am thankful for as Thanksgiving approaches is dessert and chocolate cake!  Thanksgiving and this holiday season typically adds extra chaos to our lives so I wanted to share this simple idea for a cake to help simplify your Thanksgiving needs.  Thanksgiving food is usually focused on the turkey, ham and sides.  The dessert usually doesn't require much decorating but if you are making a cake and want to add a little touch of Thanksgiving theme to it, then this simple cake banner and cake decorating idea may give you one less thing to worry about for this holiday!

Thankful Thanksgiving Tree and Gratitude Printables

Thankful Thanksgiving Tree All Year Round

Thanksgiving, Crafts, Arts

Thanksgiving is only days away and then Christmas will be here before we know it!  We have been working on a little Thanksgiving project with the kids and finished it up this weekend.  We didn't get to do as many craft and fall activities as I would have liked to do with the kids this year since we've been so busy but at least we were able to complete our Thankful Thanksgiving Tree.  This tree is actually going to be a tree we keep up all year and work on consistently to remind us to be thankful everyday for all our blessings and not just during Thanksgiving.

Tips on Answering {Awkward} Questions Once Your Child Can Read

Written by, Bernadyn Nettles

The Reading Dilemma: A Mommy {and Daddy} Cab Discussion

A couple weeks ago, I began my new blog series, called, "Mommy Cab Discussions" where I share talks that I have with my son in the car.  Some of those talks are funny while some are serious but they're always interesting and I constantly learn something new.  I'm thankful for the opportunity to have these talks during our small window of time among a usually chaotic day.  Today's Mommy Cab Discussion is meant to be on the humorous side since it's based on a recent discussion that was awkward but funny.  It actually originated from a "Daddy Cab Discussion"....all because my son can now read!

Breakfast at Tiffany's-Frozen

Party Ideas

Mother-Daughter Birthday {Mash Up}

My daughter and I have birthdays that are a little over a week apart.  This year she was so excited to have a birthday party since she's old enough to know what's going on and she saw how much fun her brother had at his Lego Star Wars Party.  We figured that since both our birthdays are close together and a party can be such a hassle to put together, we might as well combine our birthday celebration into one.  Therefore, I combined one of her favorite things, "Frozen," and a favorite of mine, "Breakfast at Tiffany's."  Ta-da!  A Frozen-Breakfast at Tiffany's Birthday Party Mash Up was born!

Bacon Shrimp Cheese Rolls

Bacon, Shrimp, Cheese...All in One

Pillsbury, Breakfast, Lunch

Two of my favorite food are bacon and shrimp.  I love finding new recipes to eat them with and that's just what happened one day recently.  I had some Pillsbury pizza crust that I needed to use so I went ahead and threw these ingredients together along with some cheese and a bit of a spicy sauce since I was craving something a little spicy, too.  It was quick, easy and filling, something I'll be making again!

#AskAwayFriday with Megan at The Patchwork Paisley

Written by, Bernadyn Nettles

Welcome to another Ask Away Friday!  It's been a crazy week around here with first my hubby getting sick then my two little ones.  It's always hard watching your kids be anything but happy and healthy.  I've been trying to just sit with them more and tend to them this week.  I'm excited to be able to exchange questions with a new buddy for this week's Ask Away Friday.  Ask Away Friday is when two bloggers swap a set of ten questions and they each answer the questions on their own blogs.  It's a fun way to get to know other bloggers and for your readers to learn more about you, too.

DIY Homemade Liquid Hand Soap and Free Printables

A couple months ago, I tried this DIY liquid hand soap recipe that I saw on Pinterest (I apologize for not including the link to that, I can't find it on my Pinterest boards now...grrr).  I did modify it a little, however, and have been happy with the results so far.  I'm always experimenting, though, so if I find a better way to do this, I will update this post!  If you would like to save money on liquid hand soap, this recipe would be worth a try to help out your wallet!
